Reflection & Rest
In Exodus, God’s presence is external and localized. His glory fills the Tabernacle. The cloud rests on it. The people know God is with them because His presence descends into a sacred space. They do not enter freely. Moses alone goes in. The glory is real, but it is veiled and limited. In 2 Corinthians, Paul explains that what the Tabernacle pointed to has now become internal and personal. God’s presence no longer rests in a tent. It rests in His people.
God’s presence is not only something we approach—it reshapes us. Just as the cloud filled the Tabernacle and marked Israel as God’s dwelling place, the Spirit now fills the hearts of believers, making us His living sanctuary. Presence is no longer external or distant. It is personal, active, and transforming.
This passage reminds us that God’s presence brings freedom, not fear. Freedom from shame. Freedom from striving. Freedom from trying to earn what has already been given. In His presence, we are not pressured to perform; we are invited to be changed. Transformation is not forced. It unfolds as we remain near Him.
Reflection asks us: Where have I been striving instead of resting in God’s nearness? Where have I forgotten that His Spirit is already at work within me?
Rest is trusting that God’s presence is sufficient. You do not have to manufacture holiness. You are being shaped by staying close to Him.
Today, let your soul be still. Let God be present without needing to prove anything. Transformation is already happening.
A Prayer
Lord, thank You that Your presence brings freedom and not burden. Teach my heart to rest where Your Spirit dwells. Shape me quietly, faithfully, and patiently into the image of Christ. I trust You to finish the work You have begun in me. Amen.

Amen, I also have been pronounced dead several times. God is the most real, powerful, and available presence for us to turn to. God bless you and have peace in his presence!
