Narrative Setting

What Happens in the Story
God declares Noah righteous “in this generation” and commands him and his family into the ark. Noah is not spared because of personal greatness or moral perfection, but because he walks with God in faithful obedience. Every detail of God’s command is followed. The rain comes. The waters rise. The flood now swallows the earth that once held human movement and life. The narrative slows when the destruction begins. The waters prevail. Mountains disappear beneath the depths.
