(Genesis 17:1–8) reveals a decisive moment in the story of God’s redemptive work. God appears to Abram as “El Shaddai (God Almighty)”, declaring that His covenant will not merely accompany Abram’s life, but it will define it. Abram is called to “walk before Me and be blameless,” not as a condition of earning God’s favor, but as the fitting response to a God who binds Himself to His people in sovereign faithfulness.

Here, God transforms Abram’s identity into Abraham, “father of a multitude.” The promise expands beyond personal blessing to a multi-generational, kingdom-shaping covenant, grounded entirely in God’s initiative.
