Joshua - Day 7 - Promise Fulfilled: Entering the Land (Mar 26)
Formation & Application / Joshua 24:14–15 (NKJV)

What This Forms in Us
Joshua’s final charge forms decisive covenant loyalty. Israel now stands in the land God promised, yet possession is not the same as devotion. “Fear the Lord” calls us into reverent awe; “serve Him in sincerity and in truth” calls us into undivided authenticity. Faith is not sustained by memory of past victories but by present allegiance. Today we seek clarity: the promises of God invite gratitude, but they require renewed obedience.
How This Is Lived Out
This is lived out through intentional separation from rival allegiances. Joshua commands them to “put away the gods” their fathers served. Meaning spiritual compromise can linger even among covenant people. In our lives, these “gods” may not be carved images but misplaced trust: reputation, control, comfort, influence, or security. Covenant faith becomes visible when we remove what competes with Christ and align our household habits, priorities, and conversations with declared loyalty.
Practice for Today
Identify one area where your loyalty is divided. It might be time, attention, financial stewardship, or private thought life. Bring it honestly before the Lord. Make one concrete adjustment today that reflects renewed allegiance: reorder your schedule, restore a neglected discipline, reconcile a strained relationship, or verbally lead your home in prayer. Faith becomes formative when choice becomes action.
Formation Truth (to carry forward)
God’s faithfulness to fulfill His promises does not eliminate our responsibility. It intensifies it. Promise fulfilled still demands a decision renewed.
A Prayer
Lord, You have proven Yourself faithful through every generation. Guard my heart from divided loyalties. Teach me to fear You rightly, to serve You sincerely, and to lead my home with courage and clarity. Let my confession be more than words—let it shape my obedience. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Amen.
