Leviticus - Day 7 - Holiness: Drawing Near on God’s Terms (Mar 2)
Formation & Application / Leviticus 20:7–8 (NKJV)
Scripture Link: 🙏 Leviticus 20:7–8 (NKJV)
What This Forms in Us
This passage forms in us a reverent awareness that holiness is not self-manufactured. God does not ask us to become holy on our own strength; He declares that He is the One who sanctifies. Our role is consecration—setting ourselves apart in obedience and surrender. This shapes humility in us, reminding us that transformation is a partnership where God supplies the power and we supply the willingness.
How This Is Lived Out
We live this out by ordering our lives around God’s authority rather than personal preference. Obedience becomes an act of trust, not control. Holiness shows itself in daily choices: how we speak, what we allow into our minds, how we treat others, and where we draw moral boundaries. Our actions become visible evidence that we belong to the Lord.
Practice for Today
Pause today and intentionally consecrate one part of your life to God. It could be your time, your speech, your entertainment, or a strained relationship. Pray, “Lord, this area belongs to You,” and make one small, obedient change that reflects His holiness.
Formation Truth (to carry forward)
Holiness is not achieved by effort alone; it is received through obedience to a sanctifying God.
A Prayer
Lord, You are holy, and You alone make me holy. Teach me to consecrate my life to You, not out of fear, but out of trust. Shape my desires, guard my choices, and let my obedience be a testimony that I belong to You. Sanctify me by Your truth, and lead me in Your ways. Amen.
