Now Go, But Not Alone - Day 11/11 (April 17)
You are not sent in your strength—you are sent in His power.
🙏 Acts 1:8 (NKJV) — “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”
What Happened
Before Jesus ascends into heaven, He gathers His disciples and gives them both a promise and a command. He does not send them out immediately in their own strength. Instead, He tells them to wait for what the Father has promised. The coming of the Holy Spirit. This moment marks a transition. The visible presence of Jesus will no longer guide them in the same way, but they will not be left alone. The Spirit of God will come upon them, empowering them to carry the message of the gospel beyond where they could go on their own. The mission begins with God’s provision.
What It Means
The work of following Christ and making Him known cannot be sustained by human effort alone. Strength, clarity, courage, and endurance do not originate within us. They are given by God through His Spirit. This changes how we understand the mission. It is not about relying on our ability, but about trusting His presence. The same God who calls also equips, and the Spirit is the means by which that power is made real in the life of every believer.
Why This Matters Today
It is easy to feel unprepared, uncertain, or inadequate when thinking about living out our faith. But this promise reminds us that we are not left to figure it out on our own. God does not send people into His purpose without also giving them what they need to walk in it. Whether in quiet daily faithfulness or in moments that require boldness, His Spirit is present and active. Our role is not to produce the power, but to depend on it.
A Simple Truth to Carry
You are never sent alone. You are sent with His power.
A Prayer
Lord, You have not called me to walk this life in my own strength. Fill me with Your Spirit and guide me in every step. Give me courage when I feel uncertain, strength when I feel weak, and clarity when I need direction. Help me to trust in Your presence and to live faithfully in the purpose You have given me. Amen.
