Peace Replaces Fear - Day - 5/11 (April 11)
Locked doors cannot keep out the Prince of Peace.
đ John 20:19 (NKJV) â âJesus came and stood in the midst and said⌠âPeace be with you.ââ
What Happened
The disciples are hiding behind locked doors, afraid. Jesus appears in their midst and speaks peace.
The Explanation
On the evening of the resurrection, the disciples were gathered behind locked doors, afraid for their lives. Jesus had just been crucified, and they feared they could be next. Though they had heard reports that the tomb was empty, they did not yet understand what it meant. Their fear was real, rooted in danger, confusion, and uncertainty about what would happen next.
In that moment, Jesus suddenly stood in their midst and spoke, âPeace be with you.â He did not rebuke them for their fear or their failure, but brought peace into it. His presence, not a change in circumstances, was the answer. This moment marks the turning point from fear to clarity, from hiding to mission. Showing that true peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ.
What It Means
The presence of Jesus replaces fear with peace. Not because circumstances change, but because He is present. Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of Christ.
Why This Matters Today
Fear often drives our decisions, our thoughts, and our direction. But Jesus steps into fearful places and brings something deeper than controlâ He brings peace.
A Simple Truth to Carry
Peace is found where Christ is present.
A Prayer
Lord, meet me in the places where I feel fear. Speak Your peace into my heart and help me to trust that You are with me. Amen.
