Tenets of Leadership: Leadership Is a Privilege
“Leadership is not a right to claim but a trust to steward.”
To lead is a sacred trust. To lead is not one’s right; it is a holy opportunity to serve. Carry it with reverence. Every moment you spend influencing others is a chance to shape lives for the better.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.” (1 Peter 4:10)
True leaders recognize that authority and influence are not rights to be exploited, but gifts to be stewarded. This verse reminds leaders that their talents, wisdom, and position come from God and must be used responsibly for the benefit of others.
(1 Peter 4:10) calls leaders to view their position as a sacred responsibility, not a platform for power. Authentic leadership is servant-hearted, grace-driven, and people-focused, always seeking to steward God-given gifts for the good of others and the glory of God.
Question for the Reader:
How can you view your leadership as a sacred trust today and use it to serve others for God’s glory?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to see every gift and opportunity as a trust from You. Teach me to lead with humility, reverence, and responsibility, using my influence to bless others and bring honor to Your name. Amen.
Reflection Question:
In what ways can you shift your mindset from viewing leadership as a right to embracing it as a privilege and responsibility?
