Tenets of Leadership: Measure What Matters - Results!
“What you measure grows; what you ignore withers.”
Great leaders know that results follow focus. What we track, we improve it’s that simple. Attention shapes outcomes, and discipline creates growth. Leaders who fail to measure what matters drift, but those who measure with purpose inspire progress and accountability.
“Whatever you do, work heartily… knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance.” (Colossians 3:23–24)
Paul’s words remind us that leadership is not about recognition or earthly reward, but about serving Christ with excellence. Every task, whether great or small, is an offering to the Lord. True leadership transforms from a quest for power into a sacred act of worship.
Jesus reinforced this truth in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30). Leaders are entrusted with resources, opportunities, and people, not to bury them in fear, but to multiply them in faith. God does not measure leaders by how much they were given but by how faithfully they stewarded what was entrusted to them. Results matter because faithfulness matters. Leaders who track, act, and produce fruit honor God and reflect His Kingdom.
Question for the Reader:
What are you measuring in your leadership today, and is it aligned with what matters most to God?
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to steward well what You have placed in my hands. Help me to focus on what truly matters and to lead with faithfulness, accountability, and purpose. May my results bring glory to You. Amen.
Reflection Question:
If God asked you today how you’ve used what He entrusted to you, what results would you present back to Him?
