The 40 Days That Changed Everything
Formed Before Sent — The 40 Days of Jesus
Introduction
There are moments in Scripture that change everything. The resurrection is one of them.
But what happened after the resurrection is just as important and often overlooked.
For forty days, Jesus did not disappear.
He appeared.
He spoke.
He taught.
He formed.
🙏 Acts 1:3 (NKJV) “…being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.”
This was not a pause. This was preparation. The disciples were not ready when Jesus was crucified. They were afraid. They were confused. They did not yet understand what had happened or what it meant. But over these forty days, everything changed.
They moved:
From fear to peace
From confusion to clarity
From doubt to conviction
From hiding to boldness
And this is important. They were not sent out until they were formed.
Why This Series Matters
In today’s world, we often move quickly. We want to act, to respond, to do something meaningful. But Scripture shows us a different pattern: God forms us before He sends us. Before the mission, there is understanding. Before the calling is lived out, it must be clearly seen.
What You’ll Find in This Series
Over the next 11 days, we will walk through the key moments where Jesus appeared after the resurrection.
Each day is simple and intentional:
What happened
What it means
Why it matters for your life today
These are not long studies. They are short, clear, and grounded in Scripture. Designed to take just a few minutes each day.
A Quiet Invitation
If life feels busy, distracted, or uncertain—this is for you. Take a few minutes each day.
Read slowly. Reflect honestly. You may find that what changed the disciples also begins to shape you.
A Simple Truth to Begin
Before God uses you publicly, He forms you privately.
A Prayer
Lord, as I begin this journey, open my understanding. Teach me through Your Word. Form in me what You formed in them—clarity, faith, and readiness. Amen.
