The Tenets of Leadership: Make Decisions in the Light
“Integrity shines brightest when choices are made in the open.”
Decisions made in secret erode trust. Transparency honors those affected. Difficult decisions are inevitable, but they must be made openly and honestly, not for the approval of others, but in clear view of those who are impacted. Transparency is a mark of integrity.
“For everyone practicing evil hates the light… But he who does the truth comes to the light.” (John 3:20–21)
These verses conclude Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus, highlighting the powerful contrast between darkness and light, sin and righteousness, and deceit and truth. (John 3:20–21) teaches that great leaders embrace the light of truth, lead with integrity, and are unafraid to be examined because their leadership is rooted in righteousness, not self-preservation.

Lord, give me the courage to lead with transparency and honesty. Keep me from hiding in the shadows of fear or pride and teach me to make decisions that reflect Your light and truth. May my choices build trust, honor others, and bring glory to You. Amen.

When others look at your decisions, do they see fear and secrecy, or do they see the light of Christ shining through integrity and truth?
