The World Isn’t Falling Apart — It’s Following a Pattern
What Genesis already revealed… and why this moment should not surprise us
Introduction
There’s a lot being said right now, but very little of it is actually helping. Fear is rising, tension is building, and people are watching the news, wondering how far things might go. With talk of conflict surrounding Iran and warnings of overwhelming military force—what some are calling an “epic fury” response—many are asking the same question: What is happening to our world?
But here’s the deeper question.
What if this isn’t new?
What if what we are witnessing right now is not simply a political moment or a military crisis, but part of a pattern that Scripture has already revealed about the human condition? When we step back and look through the lens of Genesis, we begin to see something remarkable: the Bible has already described humanity’s tendencies. Our pursuit of power, our attempts to secure our own future, and our repeated efforts to build a world apart from God. And once you begin to see that pattern, the moment we are living in starts to look far less surprising.
What You’re Watching Right Now… Genesis Already Explained
If we only look at the headlines, everything feels urgent, unpredictable, and new. But Scripture does not begin with nations; it begins with the human heart. Before conflicts between countries arose, a deeper issue was already unfolding within humanity itself. That pattern begins early, when humanity steps outside God’s authority and defines its own path. 🙏 Genesis 3:6 (NKJV) “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food… she took of its fruit and ate.” From that moment forward, humanity would continue to seek control, build systems, and pursue identity apart from God.
As I’ve been working through Genesis 1–11, one truth keeps rising to the surface: Genesis is not just about how the world began. It’s about how humanity behaves. God creates order; humanity chooses independence; sin enters; corruption spreads; nations form; power begins to centralize; and unity turns toward self-exaltation. That pattern reaches a defining moment at Babel. 🙏 Genesis 11:4 (NKJV) “And they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves…’” This is not simply a historical event; it reveals the human heart’s ongoing tendency. What we are witnessing today, even in moments of rising tension, conflict, and the language of overwhelming power, is not new. It is the continuation of this same pattern. And once you begin to see it, you are no longer reacting to the moment. You are understanding it.
The Problem Has Never Been Nations
All humanity comes from one line. 🙏 Acts 17:26 (NKJV) “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth…” Different nations, different languages, different cultures. But one shared condition: the human heart. The issue is not diversity. The issue is what happens when humanity tries to live, lead, and define itself apart from God.
What You’re Seeing Right Now
When you look at global tension, conflict, and instability, it’s easy to think, “This is unprecedented.” It’s not. It is the same pattern, just with different tools. Power seeks control, fear drives decisions, unity forms without God, and systems are built on self-preservation. 🙏 Genesis 11:6 (NKJV) “And the Lord said, ‘Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.’” When humanity moves together in the wrong direction, corruption accelerates.
But This Is Not The End Of The Story
What was divided at Babel, God begins to restore. 🙏 Acts 2:6–8 (NKJV) “And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language… we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” Languages no longer divide—they carry truth. And one day, 🙏 Revelation 7:9 (NKJV) “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…” Every nation, tribe, and language will stand together—not in rebellion, but in worship.
What Should We Do?
So what do we do? We don’t drift with the world; we anchor against it. We stay anchored in truth, walk in obedience, reject fear, teach the next generation well, and trust God’s sovereignty. Scripture does not call us to react in panic, but to live in alignment with what is already true.
FaithBindsUs Truth
When humanity builds without God, confusion is inevitable. When humanity returns to God, restoration begins.
Final Reflection
Don’t just read Scripture—understand it. Follow along as we walk through it together every day.
