Worship Comes Before Understanding Day 2/11 (April 8)
Worship Before Understanding — The Heart Recognizes What the Mind Has Not Yet Grasped
Scripture: 🙏 Matthew 28:9 (NKJV) — “They came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.”
Who were these women?
The “women” refers specifically to those who had just left the tomb of Jesus after encountering the angel. Identified in Matthew’s account as Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James (often called “the other Mary”). These women become:
The first witnesses of the resurrection
The first to worship the risen Christ
The first to carry the message forward
They did not yet understand everything. But they recognized Him and responded rightly.
Who was the Angel?
He is a messenger sent from God, and his role is to announce and confirm the resurrection!
What Happened
The women, filled with both fear and joy, encountered Jesus on the road. They fell before Him and worshiped.
What It Means
Before full understanding comes full surrender. They did not yet grasp everything—but they recognized who He was. Worship is the right response to the risen Christ, even before every question is answered.
Why This Matters Today
We often wait until we understand everything before we fully trust. But faith does not grow through control. It grows through surrender. Worship aligns the heart before the mind catches up.
A Simple Truth to Carry
You don’t need a full understanding to give full worship.
A Prayer
Lord, teach me to worship You even when I don’t fully understand. Help me to trust who You are before I try to explain everything You do. Amen.
